Hello Steely Dan members or representatives,

First of all I very much enjoyed your concert in September in The Netherlands. I don't need to say that you are the greatest band and all that stuff. You probably already know.

Secondly I wonder if the album/picture that is on your homepage is the long expected new album. I am realy dying to buy it. When and where can I buy it?

Please respond me a.s.a.p.

Best regards from Utrecht, The Netherlands

Hello, My name is Jimmy J. I have been a fan of Steely dan since i was a wee lad of too small and have come to believe that Donald fagan, is, in all worlds, A God. When is the next album coming out?

Thanks for your time and if you want to know any more about me, let me know. Thanks again.

Dear Walt + Don (Don't often see it that way round do you??),

Hero's, 'Romans' .... Philanthropists lend me your auditory receptors!.

Could I humbly and briefly draw your attention to the efforts of a UK band paying homa ge to your outstanding material. I understand this might bring furrowed brows of concern ("protect my babies"), but I'm out here to allay some fears (well, not the ones about global warming, or fluorocarbon emissions). No,.... for sure though, it's virtually free from cabaret!. In fact I'm offering to send you personally - samples and promo for your perusal (if you were to (discretely) mail me some forwarding address). We're on the Net too!, and aware of your penchant to peruse/abuse/excuse th e medium, it would be great if (whenever you got the chance), you would take a look!, let me know what you think?. Site is :- www.cqws.com/zone4/nearly-dan/nearly.htm (dig the sponsor!) A suitable level of acerbic humour included I think?. Co uld be worth noting the sound clip is an excerpt from a live recording at the band's third(!!!!) rehearsal. Pete Fogel said he loved it (Nice Guy), if that adds any impetus. In fact we may be playing at the club Pete books in NYC some time hence. By the way, if you're ever " over here" and the schedule permits, drop over... check us out!. We could go for some Indian food afterwards......drink some British beer (good stuff!! .....oh er....in moderation...(re: "Alive" sleeve notes)). To cut to the chase - (bear in mind I'd feel more comfortable asking the Prez for his daughters hand in marriage!....God forbid!) - our sustained efforts here would be more than rewarded by some 'small' sort of endorsement or approval - a link on the official site p erhaps?.........there I said it!. To conclude.....Firstly, don't leave it too long before touring UK again (remember the food offer!). Secondly, the obligatory request for a new album ( adding the caveat - take as long as you like!). Finally, bes t wishes to you and your families (both Ya's).

Rob R (Nearly Dan)

PS... We reckon we could do the next tour.....oh er 30% cheaper than the regular guys (Sorry Guys....business an' all that!) :-)

Walt - Great chops man....... ......."you know that angular phrasing that Walt B uses".....Unique I'd say!.

Why thanks, Rob, our technical staff is working on that link even as we speak.

Oh mystical, and yet successful ones. Please harvest more of our 9 to 5 money by releasing more of the live recordings. As usual, beauty, mystery, grace and precision was combined magically for ALIVE and deserved the Steely Dan name (despite the name's ori gin).

For your new stuff, hire Rick Witkowski as your guitarist. He combines all the talents of your 70's guitarists into one entity.

Dear WB & DF,

Just wondering what was going on with the new CD. I have been a "Dan" fan for 20+ years. I was fortunate enough to see both the '95 & '96 tours (at Great Woods in Mansfield, MA), as well as the 'Rock'n'Soul Revue' in '94 (also at Great Woods). I t was great to hear 'The Dan' live!!!! During the '96 (Citizen Dan) tour, you played a couple of new tunes.....most notably 'Wet Side Story'. I am really looking forward to hearing the rest of the new material (and hopefully another tour) . Just wondering how the project was coming along. Subject: Great Stuff...

Hi,

As you can see from my e-mail address I'm a big fan, not just of Donald Fagen but Walter Becker and the group as well. I just wanted to thank you for the wonderful music you have made over years. It has been a big part of my life. Your wo rk was the doorway that got me into jazz. By the way, I once had the honor of doing an interview with Dave Brubeck and I was quick to point out that you were big fans of his. He got a kick out of the line in Mr. Fagen's song "New Frontier". He had not h eard the album but he said he would check it out.

I was reding an article about the recording style you have developed and I would like to tell you how much I love the sound of your recordings. I have worked in radio for many years and I consider myself an audiophile. I do not like lots of reverb and compresion. To me a little warm verb is quite enough to add some energy to a recording. It is my opinian that the art of recording has gone downhill to some degree. The new digital equipment is wonderful but the production standards seem to have droped. Many records sound as though they were recorded in a basement! I like to be able to hear all the instruments in detial.

I have often used your work to test the audio quality of equipment for radio. I k now where all the peaks are and the EQ is good for setting up multi-band processing. Another point, I was very pleased with the way the vocals were treated on your live album and Mr. Fagen's Latest effort. Clean!

Thank you again and I wish you the best of luck in the future. I will be looking for more wonderful recordings from River Sound!

Virtually Yours,

Joe Collins

Here's my idea of a kick-ass Steely Dan personel: Dennis Chambers on Drums, Victor Wooten on bass, John Scofield or Drew Zingg on guitar, even better, how about a lead banjoist, Bela Fleck- Michael and Randy Brecker on horn section and Herbie Hancock on piano- and might I suggest that you guys jam a little more on stage-I know that your old now and you'd like to keep you r songs short and sweet-but give your fans what they pay for-we know you have it in you!-this I know because I saw your show at Roseland a while back, WOW! let me start with the standard - i think your great! now that we have that out of the way - lets get down to business. i own a rinky dink 16 track analog studio in canada. i run an old tascam 1" ms-16 analog recorder with a amr 1600 series console (32x16).
i consider myself (of course) a gifted recordist. i am also a old fart musician of almost 30 years on the road. if you have ever thought of doing a back to basics recording - please contact me!.
so many bands rely on the latest studio technology to give their recordings that "sound". it's true steely dan ha s used that technology to its fullest- and we all have marvelled at the result. but todays muscians seem to rely on digital technology (cut/paste/etc) to fix a lack of musicianship.
i think music is a gift that comes from the soul not from the computer.
i know this is crazy - but lets see what you can do without all the lights and bells of the l.a. studos. if not at my place then perhaps at another similar location. you must remember your first days in the studio - what a rush!
i understand that pro's need a pro enviroment - but you guys haveproven to the world what thats all about. it shouldn't be about money or record sales anymore - it's about music!
get back to "can't buy a thrill" - it was such rush.

When I was five, my parents bought Pretzel Logic on vinyl; I've been humming "Night by Night" off and on to myself ever since. That was 1979. Enough said.

I know too little about music to say anything of critical value other than, "Gee, thet thar music o' yourn sure is catchy." Dear Donald and Walter

Saw you @ Birmingham UK 12 Sep 96 and bought the Steely Dan T Shirt! The price was outrageous price (oh honey let me tell you....)

Me gustan mucho ustedes y desde hace mucho tiempo but:

1) Don't play so loud - I can hear you but I can't hear what you're playing
2) Fire all those eternally soloing sidemen - it's dull (bring back Denny
Dias, the Skunk, Larry Carlton, Wayne Shorter etc) - you wouldn't let them
do that on a studio album
3) Play more songs (okay I know it's a strain on the voice so get another
singer to help out). Steely Dan is about the melodies.

From Alive in America loved Reeling in the Years - much improved - and Sign in Stranger and Do It Again a la Art Crimes.

4) Keep those toons a-coming
5) Come back to UK soon
6) Don't pay any attention to people who tell you what to do, everything's fine, what do they know?

Gerry Rowe (aged 42 and a month and no longer a stranger)

Goodmorning (Dutch time) D & W (or mr. F. & mr. B)

Enjoying your music since 1979, I patiently waited during the eighties for new music & possible tours (although I didn't really expect to see you on stage ever: thank you for coming to Europe). Now after visiting your concerts in Rotterdam and Brussels (in Brussels the concert was even better) I am waiting again. Did I hear it right these nights? You dared to mention a 'NEW ALBUM'!

So, please, don't be too cruel (I can assure you, I buy the cd the first day it is in the shop) & tell me the latest and hottest news about it. Perhaps a release date?

Whatever you respond, thanks anyway. I still enjoy the old cd's.

Is there anyway to obtai n backstage or front row tickets, (who do I need to have my wife suck off?) Ok so it would be worth that but I am sure she won't go for it, so how would a normal fan go about this? And lastly - how come (at least at Irvine meadows) you never have played Deacon Blues? hello Donald and Walter

greetings from the new (slightly) improved South Africa, yeah that's us right at the bottom.

wow the internet is just bemo er who would have thought that after many years of drooling and sometimes dancing to you guys from the 70's when we could get hold of some of your material in those days the magic of science can make us meet in a way but having enjoyed your music for such a long time it is no wonder that you have so many friends, judging by all the mail you get. In a world where the todays talent is measured by the numbers of tits and toet they put on the video it's great to see that there are people who still have the abil ity to appreciate talent in its truest form. Looking at some of the so-called pop stars today makes me want to puke, most of what they are producing is absolute drivel and only sells on the soft porn value of the video. You just have to look at the recent macarena craze to see what I mean, Two old geezers surrounding themselves with scantily clad ladies and ZAM you have a hit. Luckily there are still groups like you guys around and as much as the fake generation yuppie types want to admit it there are still people who want to hear more than two chords in a song and words and melodies that make sense. Here in Cape Town I recently asked a local music radio station why they did not play any of your material and was told that their surveys show that people do no t want to hear anything in the jazzy vein they just want to hear some violent hip hop rappy crap. Well, I proved them wrong by linking up with a community radio station and presenting a three-hour jazz programme and guess what _ we're very popular and I do play Steely Dan and people love it. Incidently Mr Fagan I think that I recently got you what must be one of your oldest fans, A young lady of 84, yes 84 years young and she heard your Snowbound over the air and immediately called to find out all the detai ls of the CD. I sent her to a friend of mine who works in a record bar and he thought that someone was playing a joke on him and kept looking around for the camera's. This young lady has also tuned into Pat Metheny since listening to our programme so it ju st goes to show you that age is no barrier when it comes to good music, especially you guys. Michael Brecker was over here a few years ago with the paul simon tour and I told him how much I liked his work with your guys and he made me spill my beer, he bou ght me another, good guy hey. Hey I reckon I going on to long but I have about 20 years of being out of touch to catch up on _ naah I won't do that now.

I see you guys have toured all over but not here and I'm not going to ask I just want you guys to know especially Don, When the Cold Wind Blows, you go where the Dahlias bloom, well here in Cape Town the cold wind hardly blows and much more than Dahlias bloom throughout the year.

By the way its my birthday on 1June, (the 40 this year) I'm having a small do, bit of beer, bit of barbeque and some of the sweetest herbs this side of the Equator, our stuff is legendary, you guys are welcome to come along, if you want to get here this is the directions

=From the airport travel towards Table Mountain on the N2 for about 5kms turn left at exit 14 watch for the Towers before the turn, don't stop at the restaurant you pass near the turn off, horses heads were found in their yard recently, go on until you see traffic lights next to a vegetable stand in the middle of the road ............,.......

Aahg, just call when you get here, we're starting the affair at about 3pm don't be late guys, and presents bring presents this is the last one for me and in all my years I've still not got a GI Joe suit.

Tot siens

Gary van dyk.

Wow. My hypothetical respect for the legendary Durban Dark has been expanded by a full order of magnitude. One question: what about a couple of old geezers surrounded by scantily clad ladies, assuming the geezers are sporting tunes chockabloc with knuckle-busting distended 11th chords and the like? Would that be any better? Would that be okay?

I am sorry if my subject title is missleading, but I had to do something to make this message stand out. This e-mail has nothing to do with sex. Let me get to what it does have to do with. My name is Eskunder Boyd. I am now 21, but will turn 22 on t he 13th of May (same birthday as Stevi e Wonder, but that's neither here nor there). I have been a die-hard Steely Dan fan for some time now. It is a unique delight to decipher some different SD lyric. A little while ago I wrote Pete Fogel with a trivia question and asked him how I might be able to get into contact with either Walter or Donald (pardon my use of the familiar). He told me that Walter recieves the mail from the SD website mail-drop, so here goes. Mr. Becker I cannot overstate my admiration for Steely Dan. It must seem a bit incongrous to some, this Black, 21 year old who should be listening to something modern, belting out lines from Do It Again. I am not a violent person, but am prone to throw punches if some buffon insults the lyrical genius of Mr. Steely Dan. I say all this to say that the music of Steely Dan, and other Dan related projects, will carry on to the next generation. I can promise you that my kids will be praying to Turn that Heartbeat over Again. I saw you guys this past summer at the Nissan Pa villion in Virginia and it was the highlight of the summer. I imagine that you must be sick of all this adulation, but you gotta know that I am for real. Hell, I even have the vinyl with Dallas on it. In addition to Citizen Steely Dan, I also have e very release (granted their on CD) except for 2. Don't worrt as soon as I get some cash those two are mine. I guess I just wanted to tell you that I love and appreciate your music. Absolute genius. If you don't ever get a chance to read this, oh wel l I'll keep on rocking. If you do get the chance to read this, please send back some confirmation that you got it. It would make my year. Well I guess that's all I can say.

Now, then, and forever ... STEELY DAN

Most Sincerely yours,
Eskunder Raven Tedros Boyd

What was your profit margin on the $25 t-shirts sold during the 1996 tour? Hope you made a bundle. It is nice to see you no longer hold socialist views and have embraced a pure, market-driven captialism.

You will be happy to know that there is an after-market for your 1994 t-shirts. I just sold two of them at my garage sale for 50 cents each. Please don't take it personally. I am not trying to divest myself of The Dan. Just count me as a loyal fan who is sick of wearing t-shirts.

The value of the t-shirts seems to vary from region to region - the going rate is about $200 apiece out this way. Too bad you had to let yours go in a depressed market.

Saw you guys last September at Wembley. Black Cow and My Old School were the ones, I feel. Stomp stomp stomp. My friend and I could not stop digging them for days.

Interestingly enough, my young daughter Chloe, 7 weeks, really enjoys your stuff, especially Royal Scam. I tell her that it is Carlton's genius, or Purdie's inate funk. She just dribbles, but at least she sleeps at night. Her favourite teddy is called Rikk i.

Any chance of getting a baseball cap. I queued for ages, missing East St Louis and half of Glamour Profession, (I think), but they sold out!!!!!

It was good to see Cornelius with you guys too. I've admired his cool since I got the Dobbies' One Step Closer. He plays well.

I was chastised recently on the Banyan Trees post board for admitting that I was a fan of Wynton Marsalis. what do you guys make of Branford? I would mind seeing you include him! He's pretty damn chill.

Walter, your playing really kicked, and Donald, the way you went at that keyboard, did it bleed?

Looking forward to the new disc. But willing to wait a while.

Anyway, I'll try for the hat once more, I have an AMEX card!!

To Whom is my Concern:

Salutations!

I'll get to the point and exclude the usual I.S.A.B.F. (i'm such a big fan) treatment. My latest band, the Son's Of Barbeque (SOB'S) have been performing quite a few SD covers, ie: Bodhisattva, Reeling, Kid C., Josie, and my personal favorite, Green Earrings. I have admittedly taken liberty with the lyrics , as is sometimes necessary to keep the audience alert/awake; such is the case in the mid-west when most people are expecting another disgusting rendition of "free bird." Anyway, what follows is my adaptation of your lyrics for the chain-smoking, nose-pick ing, possum-eating, wife-beating trailer trash that sometimes stumbles into a SOB show:

GREEN ACRES - adapted from "GREEN EARINGS"

OLD.....BORING, RE-RUNS, ON TV,
DRUCKER, KIMBEL,
CAN'T BELIEVE, WHAT I SEE,
GREEN ACRES, I REMEMBER, THAT DOUGLAS FARM..BEHIND,
I REMEMBER, THAT HOOTERVILLE SIGN,
WHAT I'D FIND, I DON'T MIND.

HIS....TRACTOR, ALWAYS, ON THE BLINK,
EB, MR. ZIFFEL,
HAD A PIG FARM, SURE DID STINK,
GREEN ACRES, I REMEMBER, THAT PIG WHO WATCHED TV,
I REMEMBER, MR. HANEY,
WHAT I SEE, CAN IT BE?

GREEN ACRES, I REMEMBER,
THAT LAND SO FAR AND WIDE,
KEEP MANHATTAN, GIVE ME THE COUNTRY SIDE,
FAR AND WIDE, FAR AND WIDE.

Well, I hope we haven't broken any copywrite laws, as the intent is purely satrical. Anyway, I would expect you might get a laugh out of this.

Hi,

Hope this gets to you and you have time to read it.

Thanks very much for a superb concer t at the Wembley Arena last September. The arrangements of all the songs were spot on and your band was superb. Just one question - why oh why did you take so long to get back over here?! I hope it's whetted all your appetites as I for one can't wait to ha ve you back. Maybe I'll get a better view next time (moan!).

Now, I know your probably going to switch off at this point but I have to partly agree with "siegfried" about the vinyl versus CD argument. I'm not going to go all "up my own arse" on this but j ust to say that , as a confirmed vinyl junkie I very much like to listen to any type of music on vinyl if I can, even down to the whole packaging thing. I'm very keen to get hold of the Alive in America album, but don't know if it's available on vinyl.

Anyway, thanks again for some great memories last year and come back soon!

My Lords,

I was just watching tha fuckin' Knicks lose to Miami when, coming back from a commercial break, TNT starts playing "Walk Between Raindrops" (Ohhhhh Miami!) while showing an overhead shot of that very same city and that got me thinking, do you guys (well , in this case just Don) get royalties for that and, if so, can I get a piece of that for pointing it out to you? No, I thought it was worth a shot. Teddy Turner's got deep pockets even if Jane is in at least one of them.

Keep it up

Steely Dave

Dear Dan & Walt
Ok, so the USA got to see you a couple of times, how about a tour of Australia. You guys were huge here in the seventies and your songs are still played all the time on the radio so I don't think you'd have a problem selling tickets. Hell, I even get to hear your music in the local supermarket. I'm not kidding, I guess Coles (the name of the chain store) figure Dirty Work, Rik ki or Reelin' are conducive to the purchasing of houshold goods. So, how about it guys. Australia awaits.
Kind Regards

Dear Mr. Becker & Mr. Fagan,
Great live shows the last two years here in Denver.

I have made a keen observation. You two are the Andy Warhol of the music business. You started out doing hack music for shady characters ( I guess the characters are ALWAYS shady), just trying to make it into the business. Andy Warhol, as we all know, started prostituting himself as a graphic designer just to get into the New York Art scene. You bucked all trends and wanted to do your own stuff, regardless of what others thought. Andy did everything he could to be different, and found mixing pop lexicons and ego-centric voyerism t o be somewhat "vouge-rougue". You mixed your love for jazz, etc... I won't even get into how Andy had others do his silscreens and prep work for him, and how you guys hire outside musicians.

What I'm trying to get at is, that true art not only engages the viewer, or listener, but changes the way they see things. Your sardonic wit, very much in tune with my own, is pleasing to hear among such flowery or campy music, much as looking at a Warhol after staring at neo-classical paintings all day just was hes out all the garbage floating in your head. I appreciate your art of the past, and look forward to hearing your art of the future. I am not concerned with, nor will I ask, about when your next album will come out. Did true art lovers keep bugging War hol about when his next set of silkscreens was due? I think not.

I have no idea what it's like to live in/out of the public eye like you two, but I am sure it has to mess with your heads sometimes. You enjoy covering up your fears with humor and wit. That's great. It's a hell of a lot better than drowning it in a bot tle, or ranting on like mental patient, a la some recent bands I've heard. I don't pretend to guess what your lyrics mean, or try to get in your heads like many fans do, but I enjoy, af ter listening to a song for years, having a lyric come to life in a way it never did before. It's like a painting in your house you just never get sick of. Just thought you needed a little honest affirmation.

Take care,

Steely Dan/Becker & Fagen,

I turned 25 this year and thoug ht it was about time to apologize for being a nut case fan when I was in high school. I know you guys were probably a little fan-shy after the whole Larry Carlton deal, so I hope I wasn't too scary. When I was in high school celebrity stalking didn't car ry the cachet it does today. Anyway, Mr. Fagen might recall a letter and a call or two to the Powerstation with messages from an old friend. Desperate youth crap. I thought meeting you might help me with those E minor 9 to C13 changes.

Anyway, I was just checking out your website tonight and noticed a reference to Dolores' Diner on Santa Monica Blvd. in West L.A. See, a few years ago I came out to Hollywood (from New Jersey) to be a whore TV/Film writer. Anyway, I moonlight as a messenger and have h ad a few pickups at the studio on Butler across the street from Dolores. I saw your gold records and then it hit me that perhaps you too have enjoyed the technicolor yellow gravy on Dolores' famous open-faced hot Turkey sandwich. Not to mention the old, silver-haired waiter with pompador and onyx pinkie ring who works the half-circle booths in the back section.

It's tough finding real Jersey Route 1 and 9 diners in L.A. And there's nothing out here that matches the Munson on 11th Ave/49th or The Tunnel Diner, but once in a while I just have to drop in to Dolores and force down the gravy. Kind of like getting th rough Ginsberg's "Please Master," without asking "Why?"

Looking for Cherrycoke,

Walter -

Really enjoyed your solo outing. I saw you guys in Nashville a couple of years ago and you played a couple of the songs before the disc was released and it enticed me to buy it. How did the cd end up doing, sales wise? Do you have more solo ventures in the works? Did you do any touring to support the cd? It would've been neat to see you in some small clubs.

Anyway, just wanted to say "hey - good job".

Greetings Great Ones,

Just hoping you'll bring your fabulous show to Northern Ohio again this year. I was suicidal for months after I fou nd out I'd be out of town and miss the show last year. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE come back this year. OK, how about a bribe??? Corned Beef sandwiches at Corky And Lennys. I'll buy for the whole band, except Cornelious, I'd probably have to mortgage the ho use to feed him. Maybe even play just a small gig if Donald comes back to visit his parents. Any '97 tour info would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks for always keeping the music priority one, and not selling out to commercialism. You dudes are the BEST !!!!

John B.

P.S. Never got the chance to say before now, but the NY Rock and Soul Review Tour was TITS!!!!

It so happens that Cornelius Bumpus is a very dainty eater. Goodbye, sir.

Antidisesthablishmentarianism. There is my fifty-nine cent word for this message. I felt it necessary to keep up with the other fine fans o' Dan. I have the critical job of being a bartender in Sou thern Maine in the summertime, this is how I finance grad school and my expensive taste in booze. I must say, as a longtime fan, I love to play your (my favorite music) in my bar. The only time people mellow the fuck out (and how) and not bitch about "the tunes" is when Pretzel Logic is on- this seems to be the best for drinking with Royal Scam a close second. They dig Bowie, too.

So, hey I'm drunk, and it's cool. If you ever get to York Beach, find Marlyn's and lobsters and drinks are on me! Ever SCUBA dive?

Ricardo

Sounds like you might be coming up a little faster than your bubbles, Ricky. And where the hell is York Beach anyway?

Your antipode fans love the steeliness of your dan as much as your americans and europeans. Next tour, please let some Australian entrepreneur rip you off enough to endure a very very long flight in order that i may enjoy you live. I deserve it, because a moronic rumour has spread that Alive in America is of dubious quality - slander I quash, like a lit match on a sea-monkey starter kit, simply by playing the thing to your self proclaimed other fans.

Thanks, Tom, for defending our honor, such as it is.

Well, I can't seem to stump the Fogel...either I ask him and he knows the answer, or I never get a reply. I mean, he didn't even know what a "senior quote" was, much less what you guys' quotes were. That, and he refuses to admit that Michael McDonald say "The shadow falls", rather than "the shutter falls" in Peg. I ask wh at the discrepency was, he says there is no discrepency, and where can I turn for support? And so I come to you guys...is a signed lithograph of an album cover very much to ask for my hard work? I think not, and I'm sure that somebody over in the Dan ca mp agrees with me. If you guys go touring, I'll be there, and if not, I'll hope that whatever activities you are involved in are condusive to a healthy working environment.

Subject: Imitation Steely Bands?

Hey guys, I'm a big fan and all that stuff. Your a one of a kind ba nd! I love the jazz in your music! I'd love to hear you guys do a fusion tune like Scott Henderson and Tribal Tech. Scott said he wishes he could find a singer like Donald and he's had no luck so he'll keep it only instrumental. I've seen you guys every ti me your in L.A. and it's the best shows I've ever seen!! What happened to the fast jammin' guitar on your live performance of "Reelin' In The Years"? I liked the new live version but missed the jammin' parts. Anyway, I just wanted to know what you guys thi nk about other imitation bands that go on stage at small places and do the tribute thing. Do you guys get pissed? Have you been impressed? Have you heard any of these bands? My friend said he seen a group called Pretzel Logic in the L.A. area back in 1985 and said it was a 8 man band with horns and a singer that sounded very close to Donald. I told him they couldn't do it and they probably sucked. I was just wondering what you guys think about imitation bands of your group and if you would even recommend on e in paticular if you heard one that impressed you. I can't wait for your next album if there will be one. I'm not trying to be a jerk but the so-called band Boston should be called The Tom Scholz Project] puts out albums quicker than you guys. The longer you guys take the more I'll expect. Boston blows now because Tom Scholz thinks to much about his writting and perfecting of his music. I wasn't impressed after waiting 7yrs.. Boston was better when they put out two albums within two years and kept origina l band members. Oh the hell with Boston. What happened to Larry Carlton? I was also expecting him to be on tour with you guys. Did you ask him? Anyway, thanks for reading my e-mail and keep up the great shows! You guys are not rusty like Boston's concerts. The only thing that Tom Scholz's has going for him is the singer Brad Delp and he'll probably blow that. Did you hear their last album? The new singer is horrible. We'll maybe I'm to opinionated and pickey. Take care and I hope to hear a new album SOON!!! From Mr. Lon Marschalk

A perfect note to end on, don't you think?
